The Northern Pakistan
Ratti Gali Lake is an alpine glacial lake which is located in Neelum Valley, Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. The lake is located at an altitude of 12,130 feet. The lake is fed by the surrounding glacier waters of the mountains.
I, with some of my good friends, planned a camping trip to Ratti Gali Lake during the summer of 2018. It was a 3 day trip, with 2 nights of camping. We departed early in the morning around 6am. We reached our first camping site in the evening.
The camping site which was near the Ratti Gali lake was still 3 hours away so we stopped at another campsite for the night and thought of continuing the next day. The picture on the right is from our camping pod. We had dinner on this site, and then a few people there started a bonfire and played the guitar while everybody else sang.
We left for the other campsite early in the morning, we had to continue our journey in jeep cars as the remaining journey was very rocky and had a steep slope. After 3 hours of hitting my head on every part of the jeep, we reached the campsite.
We put all of our stuff in the camp and had some warm noodles as it was freezing at that site. We then changed into our hiking gear and set off to hike til the top to the lake. It took us around 2 hours to get to the top, but the view of the lake was gorgeous. It even had snow melted around it during the summer. I lay flat on the ground and listened to music with the calm wind brushing against my face.
